3. How many schools (both Primary and Secondary) within the Salford Council area currently serve no Halal at all in meals consumed by pupils

Our Response is as follows:

The Council provides a service in 7 High schools and 75 Primary schools.

In answer to questions 1 & 3, halal meat is served in all schools that require it. Unfortunately we cannot give a definite number as the need is constantly changing.

In answer to question 2, I can advise that we are not aware of any school in Salford providing only halal meat.

British National Party Northwest MEP Nick Griffin cancelled all his appointments on Tuesday to personally visit the scene of the massive gas explosion in Irlam, Salford and to offer assistance.

Mr Griffin visited the emergency rest station, where those evacuated from the area were sent, and spoke to several residents about their experiences.

"I spoke to one lady whose house was seriously damaged by the blast. She told me of a father frantically digging in the rubble to rescue his children. She was in tears as she explained how the man dug with his bare hands to rescue his children from what remained of their home," said Mr Griffin.

A local pub very close to the scene was also visited as it was used as an emergency shelter for evacuees.

"We took some toys and board games to keep the children amused, paid for out of my English Fair Fund. It is for good causes, and I can't think of a better cause than this one," said Mr Griffin.

"Even in such difficult circumstances, and amid scenes of devastation, the 'British Spirit', and the 'never say die' attitude is what struck me in Irlam today," Mr Griffin concluded.

Key statistics on HIV in the North West

6,238 people were diagnosed and using HIV services in North West England at the end of 2009.

The Health Protection Agency estimates that around one third more people are undiagnosed. That means the total in the NW of England living with HIV is actually around 8,300.

Manchester alone has 29% of all the people known to have HIV in North West England, and almost half the people with HIV in the North West region live in Greater Manchester.

Within Greater Manchester, the greatest numbers of people with HIV are living in Manchester (1790) and Salford (542), with Bolton (260) and Trafford (198.

• 51% of people known to have HIV in the region were infected as a result of sex between men

• 37% of people known to have HIV in NW England were infected abroad, up fom 19% in 1998. Most are migrants from Africa but a significant number are British who were infected abroad, while working or on holiday.

The majority (81%) of people infected abroad became HIV positive through heterosexual sex, overwhelmingly in sub-Saharan Africa, where the global epidemic is most concentrated.

However, gay men are at a greater risk of being infected with HIV. This is reflected in Salford figures with gay men accounting for over 70% of HIV cases in 2007.

Keith Fairhurst, deputy organiser added, I know Nick's visit to Irlam meant a lot to the residents today, He was there early, and didn't leave till late, unlike the other "politicians" whose absence was remarked upon by more than a few. It was interesting to hear that labour's Hazel Blears made a fleeting visit, with her fixed grin, no doubt because Mr Griffin had been there all day. Only Nick Griffin, and the British National Party truly care about our communities, and we will always be there when we are needed.

Nick Griffin MEP has rushed to Salford in his constituency to update himself and offer what help he can, including using his local community fund to provide basic supplies to support people driven from their homes by the gas explosion in that town.

Mr Griffin was interviewed today by Radio Red, White and Blue, and gave a full update on the situation after the gas explosion in the town this morning.

The local community centre has also been offered the use of BNP-supporting caterer to supply meals if it is needed.

Welsh nationalist, and creator of the infamous 'Wembley' video Mr Roger Phillips gave an emotive and inspirational power point presentation at Salford BNP's October meeting reports branch organiser Gary Tumulty.

Mr Phillips presentation started with the very real threat from militant Islam, the inhumane and barbaric halal ritual slaughter, and concluded with an appeal for members to become active.

Roger's hard hitting video's drew gasp's of disbelief from the members at the meeting, as for some, it was their first time seeing such imagery, and the slaughter video will remain in the memory for a very long time continued Mr Tumulty.

'The recent 'Bring Our Boys Home' campaign confirmed that' said Mr Phillips. 'The queues at our stalls up and down the country tell us that we are right in our assumption that the huge majority of the British public oppose the warmongering of liberal left wing governments' he added.

Without dedicated activists, the British National Party couldn't exist. It is up to each and every one of us to get out there and spread our message before its too late.

The Marxist thug, Alec MacFadden Is the President of Merseyside Trades Council. He also heads up the Salford Unemployed and Community Resource Centre in Salford. He stood as a candidate in the 2009 Euro-elections as an independent representing the no-hoper’s of the bizarre and sinister ‘No to EU, Yes to Democracy group’. He also acts as a self-styled anti-fascist and plays a pivotal role in organizing violent street demonstrations at any and every opportunity he can. He doesn’t care who his victims are. MacFadden gained notoriety in 2002 when he marched and shared a platform with IRA leaders and sympathisers in Liverpool in 2002. This guy like to call himself a ‘people’s champion’!

The Salford Unemployed and Community Resource Centre (SURCR) is based at 84-86 Liverpool Road, Eccles. It purports to offer advice on employment Law, welfare benefits and training courses. It’s website (http://www.salforducrc.co.uk/index.html) states that is a registered charity no. 10880044. A search for this number on the Charities Commission website shows no results. It‘s registered number is, in fact, 1088044. The Trustees of that charity list one Councillor Bill Hinds (Labour) along with a Ms. Janet DeGay a known Labour activist. It is also listed as a company and that checks out with Companies House. It is funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund. That is to say, PUBLIC funds.

But SURCR is not all it seems. In recent elections some disgraceful and hateful anti BNP leaflets were distributed. There was a phone number on those leaflets for those who want to know more about the vicious Unite against Fascism organization. That phone number was 0161 789 2999 which turns out to be the number of the SURCR! The elections office was informed but no action has been taken. What other underhand projects is MacFadden running from there with YOUR money and with the implicit approval of the Labour controlled council in Salford?

In 2002 MacFadden notoriously marched shoulder to shoulder with IRA supporters and sympathisers in Liverpool. The Key speakers at this Rally were Alec MacFadden and Daithi Doolan, Chair of Dublin Sinn Fein. MacFadden may put himself forward as a ‘people’s champion’ but one wonders what sort of people he is championing. On the face of it he is a respectable pillar of the community doing good works and hob-nobbing with Labour councillors and anti-racist organisations. Do not be fooled! Underneath that thin veneer is a man who sucks up public money from anywhere he can get it, you, me, local business, Europe, National Lottery, The IRA! And he uses this money to fund the sinister Marxist activities that he and his vicious cronies support. He does this to corrupt and destroy the very society that gives him these resources in the first place! This is an odious and violent individual with links to the most sinister and evil groups on this Earth. He has no agenda other than to destroy and corrupt. This is the sort of evil that the British National Party stands against. We are the only Party that stands against it, as a vote for any other is a vote for people like Alec MacFadden.
